The Man: Mike Applegate
Hey out there! Welcome to my own little place on the internet.
I started this site just for the heck of it way back in 1996. And how the internet has changed over the years! Our little site, which gained some notoriety in the beginning, is now from the stone age of web design.
As Coach and team historian, I'd already been chronicling the exploits of the AWA Enterprises Softball Club since the team's inception in 1975, and when someone (my brother, Sherman -- the guilty party) suggested I put up a site dedicated to our long-standing and mildly successful softball team, So here it is.
Taking my hobby to the internet proved to be an experience both taxing and rewarding. I learned a lot fiddling with this stuff, trying to keep up (and failing badly) with the new technologies.
I've met similar softball web geeks over the years, and the exchange has been fun.
But time marches on and things change. The softball team has ceased to exist, but I've kept up this portion of the site for old fans and players to reminisce about, and for new fans to explore. The site now also includes the exploits of the AWA Golf Association, which is comprised of mostly old AWA softball players. So it continues into our old age. I don't do as much with the site anymore, except to keep it archived, but you are welcome to explore and enjoy.
