Preparation

Please see our Step-by-Step FTP file transfer tutorial for Beginners before proceeding any further if you are not familiar with the process of logging into your account via FTP.

If you are using a graphical Web browser in a multi-tasking environment such as Windows or the Macintosh with System 7, you should be able to load your FTP client and log on without shutting down your Web browser. This will enable you to consult the Guide as your step through the process of installing files.

If you are using a Unix shell account, please take notes, and periodically test out what you have learned. If you are a fairly sophisticated Unix user, you may be able to shell in and out of your browser and FTP client, or run them in multiple windows.

The tutorial is broken up into several sections, so there are natural stopping points in several places. Please have a small file ready to transfer to WebCom for testing purposes. (A short text file will do).
