[an error occurred while processing this directive] Quote Site

This page describes how to issue commands directly to the WebCom FTP Server, which is necessary if your FTP client does not support a particular command (such as "rename" or "chmod").

You can bypass your FTP client, and issue commands directly to the WebCom FTP server by using the "quote site" command prefix. Users of command line clients will need to type "quote site [command] [parameters]"; users of graphical clients will need to determine how to a command with the "quote site" command prefix. If this is not immediately obvious, please check your client's on-line help. If your client does not support "quote site", then you must either locate another client, or issue commands using the WebCom File Manager.

Windows and Macintosh users can find public domain ftp clients through the WebCom Index of Publicly Distributable WWW-related Tools.
