General Webcom Questions

Is WebCom going away? How long will my WebCom account be available?

At this time, there are no plans to alter WebCom services.


Why can’t I sign up with WebCom anymore? Does Verio offer the same services I am used to with my WebCom account?

Verio is an excellent, efficient Web host. You’ll still receive superior performance. This was a natural progression, as many of our features and products are duplicated within Verio, plus many more we do not offer (such as FREE real-time chat, FREE discussion forum, and FREE hit-counters, ASP, Access or FoxPro database support, your own custom CGI scripts, SQL, PGP, Majordomo, Linux, NT servers, etc.).


Am I able to upgrade/downgrade/change my WebCom account?

Yes. Existing WebCom customers are able to make the same changes to their accounts as before the Sales Cutover (i.e. upgrade, downgrade, change service plans, etc.).


Will it be possible to open up accounts in the future?

Any additional accounts may be opened with Verio. Call 888.893.2266, option 2 to find out more about the services Verio offers.


Does this mean that your services or resources at WebCom will no longer be developed?

Actually, because of our relationship with Verio, WebCom is able to not only maintain the current integrity of the system, but also continue to make performance improvements on the system and software levels.


Billing Info

Do I make payments to WebCom or Verio?

If you have a Verio account, you make payments to Verio. If you have a WebCom account, you continue to make payments to WebCom. If you pay WebCom via credit card, you will notice that the credit card statement lists Verio*WebCom & our 888 number. This changed when we changed credit card processors. It should not affect your payments.


Will any of the monthly rates change?

WebCom will continue as it always has—prices are subject to change at any time with ample notice. However, at this time there are no plans to change WebCom services and rates.


Domain Questions

How do I move a domain from my old WebCom account to my new Verio account?

For instructions, call 888.893.2266, option 2 for Verio Sales. They will be happy to walk you through the process.


Do I have to register my new domain through Verio?

No. Just as before, you are welcome to register your domain through any registrar. If you choose not to register with Verio, you will need to manually change the nameservers to WebCom. However, registering with Verio saves you two dollars over registering with Network Solutions and gives you faster domain name registration, quicker and easier domain name updates, the ability to upgrade to any of Verio’s feature-filled hosting plans, and many more perks!


Can I still add additional domain names to my WebCom account?

Is there any way to have my Verio domain and my WebCom domain linked under one account?

Yes. Verio automatically opens a parked account with them when you register a domain name. If you would like that domain to be hosted by WebCom specifically, please see the following URL: http://www.webcom.com/help/dns/new/verio_new.shtml.

Who do I contact for technical support?

If you have a WebCom account, continue to use 888.8WEBCOM for WebCom Technical Support. If you have a Verio account, call 888.663.6648 for Verio technical support.


Will WebCom customers still be routed to WebCom for support issues?

Yes; WebCom will continue to solely support all of its customers. If you have a Verio account, Verio technical support would be able to assist you with those questions. Call 888.663.6648.


Where do I call to get Verio Technical Support?
