Why are my files all in capital letters?
Unix, the operating system on which the primary WebCom Servers run, uses a file system which distinguishes between capital and lower case letters when naming files. Under Unix, the filenames "bob.txt", "BOB.txt" and "BOB.TXT" all refer to different files. This is not true for other operating systems (such as MS-DOS or Windows), which use do not distinguish case in recording a file's name (or more accurately always record a files name in all caps.). For this reason, files transferred to WebCom from these systems may have all capital filenames (depending on the program used).
You may or may not wish to give these files lower case names, depending on how often they will be changed. If you do, our tutorial on changing filenames will explain how to do this.
