How can I keep others from posting to my list?

Messages sent to your distribution list can appear to have been sent to "undisclosed-recipients@webcom.com" or any other address you choose by using the Rewriting the "To:" address option. By configuring this option, no one but you should be able to post to your distribution list, unless you explicitly inform people of the address of your list.

How can I accept submissions for my list from subscribers?

Set up a separate address for submissions. Mail sent to this address will be forwarded to the addresses listed in the file associated with it. If your email program has the ability to "bounce" messages to another address, you can redirect submissions so that they appear to have come from the original sender (instead of appearing to be forwarded by you).

How can I automate management of subscriptions and unsubscriptions?

WebCom provides a sample Forms Processor application which enables visitors to your site to subscribe and unsubscribe via a Web Page. We also recommend setting up a separate address for help and subscription requests.

Who do messages appear to come from?

Messages appear to come from the sender.

Where are replies to messages sent?

By default, replies to messages will be sent to the person sending the. message. Users can also create a "Reply-To" header using their email software, and have replies directed to an different address.

Where are error messages sent?

Error messages are sent to the "Envelope Sender Address", as defined on the Email Account Maintenance Form for the address.

Can I list names along side the addresses in my subscriber file?

You can list names in your subscriber file next to the corresponding email addresses in order to better keep track of subscribers. The names need to be in parentheses next to the address, like:
