Now that I have a domain name, how do I use it?

This page describes the way in which domain names work with the WebCom system.

Customers who select the BudgetSite or BusinessSite Service Plans receive one custom domain name included with the setup fee for the account, and can use WebCom's Domain Name Service to apply to the InterNIC for additional domain names.

Once the InterNIC has confirmed the activation of your new domain name, it will automatically act as a virtual domain, meaning your accounts home page can be accessed at the URL http://www.your-domain.com/. You need not configure anything further to make it work. Your home page will also still be able to be accessed at http://webcom.com/~webcom/userid/ and http://www.your-domain.com/userid/, which ensures that older links to your site will still work.

Using WebCom Email Services, you can create email addresses at your domain, such as info@your-domain, sales@your-domain.com, webmaster@your-domain.com, etc.

Please see the domain name help page for more detailed information on domain name registration and fees.
