Configuring Netscape 3.x to use POP Email

This page describes how to configure Netscape version 3.x to access Webcom POP boxes. For general information about WebCom POP, please see Using POP Email. For information about Netscape, including free downloads of their software, see http://home.netscape.com/

1. Select Mail and News Preferences... from Options menu.
   
   
   
   
   
2. Click on the Servers tab at the top of the dialog box.
   • For Incoming Mail Server: enter pop.webcom.com/~webcom.
   • For Outgoing Mail Server: enter smtp.webcom.com/~webcom.
   • For POP3 User Name: enter type the Mail Login Userid specified when creating the mailbox.
   
   
   
   
   
3. Click on the Identity tab at the top of the dialog box.
   • For Name: enter your name.
   • For Your Email: enter the email address for the POP mailbox.
   • For Reply-to Address: enter your valid WebCom email address.
   
   
   
   
   

All the other settings are optional. Choosing Netscape Mail from the Window pull-down menu will then open a box that will allow you read and send mail.
