How do I make a POP mailbox?

To create a new email address at WebCom which stores messages in a POP mailbox within your account, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the email services at http://webcom.com/~webcom/services/email, or by selecting "Email Services" from the Customer Services menu. From the Email Services menu choose "Create a new email account". This will take you to the Email Account Maintenance Form.
  2. Enter a name for the new email account in the first input box. This name will appear in email messages along with the From address.
  3. In the next text input box put the new email address you are creating. You can enter multiple email addresses here if you like, and messages sent to any of them will be saved in the same email box.
  4. Next, in the section labeled Store mail in POP Mailbox at WebCom check the "Enable This Option" checkbox. Then enter a unique Login Name and Password for this mailbox. These will be used with your POP mail program to access mail in the mailbox.
  5. After entering this information, simply click on the Submit button at the bottom of the form. Within a day your new email address will be active, and messages sent to the address can be retrieved with any POP mail client. For for additional help on doing this, please see our documentation on retrieving messages with a POP mail client.
