How do I register a new domain name?
The exact procedure for registering a new domain name varies, depending upon whether it is an InterNIC domain or non-InterNIC domain you wish to register.
Registering InterNIC domains is easy, as we provide online forms which submit the appropriate registration application directly to the InterNIC. Simply go to our Domain Name Service menu and fill out the form under Register new domain name(s) with the InterNIC. If any additional WebCom fees apply for registering the domain, then they will be added onto your next statement. In addition, the InterNIC will charge you directly for their own licensing fees.
When you use the online form to apply, the Virtual Hosting for the domain is automatically configured correctly. For this reason, you cannot apply directly to the InterNIC for a domain to point to your WebCom account.
WebCom is only able to provide an online registration form for InterNIC domains. As such, you will have to register non-InterNIC domains directly with the appropriate licensing authority. Once you have registered the domain name, then you will need to fill out our online form for activating Virtual Hosting at WebCom for non InterNIC domains, at our Domain Name Service menu.
In registering the domain name, you may be asked for technical information regarding concerning the WebCom system. WebCom support representatives will be happy to answer any such questions for you, at support@webcom.com.
